Here we perform Takigyo, or Misogi at night.
Misogi is the ritual of entering the waterfall and meditating to achieve physical and spiritual purification. The original place of prayer is a place where the water of the two waterfalls encounters, falling from a height of 100 meters over the people who perform their meditation.
The artificial waterfall at our temple is a representation of that holy place. Note that since the waterfall has been constructed specifically to represent the original place of meditation, the experience is just as relevant.
