Okunoin Mountain-closing Festival(Oyama ori)

The spirit of Fudo Myoo returns to the current location of the temple from the Okunoin, the original sacred place among the mountains.
At 8:30 AM we will depart from the Okunoin and carry the statue of Fudo Myoo to the Honbo (the current location of the temple).
We will arrive at the Honbo at 10:30 AM.
At 11:00 AM we perform a ritual to “close the mountains”.
From this date on, the sacred place among the mountains is closed and cannot be accessed.
